Celebrate World Wish Day with WWE



Join WWE in celebrating World Wish Day April 29! The WWE Universe can get involved in this global commemoration of wish-granting through Make-A-Wish Foundation. WWE has been a supporter of Make-A-Wish for more than 25 years, granting more than 3,500 wishes to Circle of Champions honorees (and counting)! (Read John Cena's article for "USA Weekend")

On April 29, 1980, Chris Greicius, a 7-year-old boy battling leukemia, donned a policeman's badge and uniform, and fulfilled his lifelong wish to be a police officer. That special day was an unforgettable experience for Chris, but it was also the start of something even bigger: a remarkable mission to help give hope, strength and joy to children like him.

Though he didn’t know it at the time, Chris’ wish was the inspiration for Make-A-Wish, which has since granted wishes to more than 280,000 children worldwide who bravely face serious illnesses.

Many celebrities are helping to get the word out about World Wish Day, including WWE’s John Cena, one of the charity’s biggest supporters, having granted over 250 wishes. Cena talked about the effect wishes can have on the recipients in a column he wrote for this week’s edition of "USA Weekend." “Given the chance to make their wish, they rediscover something inside: their voice, their dreams and their capacity to wrestle their futures back,” he wrote.
