The Rock has the advantage of conveniently being able to scout the Cenation leader from one of “The Peoples’ Homes” or a movie set simply by watching WWE pay-per-views and Monday Night Raw. The Brahma Bull hasn’t competed in a match since WrestleMania XX, more than seven years ago. The People’s Champ has been training at his own private facility in Hollywood, occasionally tweeting photos from @TheRock. Conversely, Cena competes all over the world at WWE live events well more than 200 times annually. Survivor Series may be Cena’s only chance to scout The Rock – from arm’s reach – before their epic encounter at WrestleMania XXVIII.
The Rock has arguably the biggest ego in the history of WWE. After all, he only refers to himself in the third person, citing one of his many monikers like “The People’s Champion” and “The Most Electrifying Man in Entertainment.” However, mental preparation aside, there’s also the physical aspects of The Great One’s preparedness. Recent images of The Rock depict him as being in the best condition of his life. In fact, he may be more vulnerable psychologically than physically. What would it do to The Rock’s psyche if he had to stand on the ring apron just feet from John Cena as Cena decided not to tag The Rock in and instead opted to win the match on his own? Is The People’s Champ mentally equipped to withstand such a humbling experience or would it eat at his unparalleled confidence for four months?
At WrestleMania XXVII, the Cenation leader was embarrassed on The Grandest Stage of Them All when The Miz retained his WWE Championship against Cena following a Rock Bottom with the world watching (PHOTOS).
